Former world record holder, Hunter Armstrong, is a force to be reckoned with. Born in Dover, Ohio, the olympic gold medalist is known for his power in backstroke events. Armstrong emerged as a rising star in USA Swimming thanks to his breakout performances leading up to the 2020 Tokyo olympic games.

He made headlines at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where he earned a gold medal as a member of the men’s 4×100-meter medley relay team. Armstrong solidified his world-class status at the 2022 world championships, where he won a gold, silver, and bronze medal for team USA.

In April 2022, Armstrong broke the world record in the men’s 50-meter backstroke (23.71), becoming the fastest man in history in that event at the time.

He swam collegiately for Ohio State University, where he developed into a top-tier sprinter under coach Bill Dorenkott. Known for his laid-back attitude outside the pool and endless magic tricks,  Armstrong continues to be a key figure on Team USA as he prepares for future international championships.
