2025 End-of-Year Round Up: From Start Lines to World Stages

What. A. Year.

It took a moment to pause, reflect, and truly appreciate everything that Team deboer, both internally and externally, accomplished in 2025. From world championship podiums to historic endurance feats, this year was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do: build better equipment alongside athletes who demand more.

Where Did the Time Go?

On the triathlon side, 2025 marked our sixth year showing up on start lines around the world. What began as an idea has grown into a global presence, and that growth is owed entirely to the athletes who continue to trust deboer as we innovate, refine, and push the limits of performance.

This year’s highlights were nothing short of extraordinary.

Kristian Blummenfelt delivered another dominant season, winning the IRONMAN Pro Series and placing third at the 2025 IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, reinforcing his status as one of the most complete athletes in the sport.

Not far behind him was fellow Norwegian Gustav Iden, who placed second at the IRONMAN World Championship, putting an exclamation point on an incredible showing for Team deboer on the Big Island.

Performances like these validate the work that happens long before race day. Early-morning testing sessions, cold-water trials, and constant iteration driven by athlete feedback.

Right To the Edg(E): Endurance Swimming at Its Limits

While podium finishes tell one story, endurance swimming tells another—one rooted in resilience, preparation, and trust.

In 2025, Ross Edgley reminded the world that extreme conditions demand extreme commitment. Battling frigid temperatures and unforgiving saltwater, Ross completed his historic swim on September 9th, 2025, showcasing what’s possible when mental strength meets purpose-built equipment.

Working closely with Ross throughout this process helped shape the ICEMAN 4.0 wetsuit, pushing it through some of the harshest conditions imaginable. These efforts continue to influence how we think about thermal protection, durability, and long-duration comfort across all deboer products.

What A Year for Swim!

2025 also marked a major milestone for deboer: our first full season in competitive swimming.

We started the year strong with the addition of 9-time Olympic gold medalist Caeleb Dressel. Beyond his accomplishments in the pool, Caeleb’s attention to detail and commitment to going faster through science have played a meaningful role in shaping our approach to racing suits and technical performance.

Shortly after, we proudly welcomed Olympic champion Torri Huske to the team. Torri continues to be on a remarkable trajectory in her career, and we are grateful not only for her talent, but for the example she sets as a leader and role model for the next generation of athletes.

World Stage Debut in Singapore

That momentum carried deboer onto the global stage for the first time at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.

Torri delivered an outstanding performance, placing third in the 100 freestyle and anchoring the world-record-setting 4×100 medley relay on the final night of competition. Seeing deboer represented at this level under the brightest lights was a defining moment for the brand.

Building Our Community: The Launch of Team Elite

Beyond elite competition, 2025 was also about building community.

We launched the inaugural year of Team Elite, our ambassador program designed to support athletes beyond just equipment. What we initially envisioned as a small group quickly turned into an overwhelming wave of interest and support from across the country.

To ensure these athletes received a world-class experience, we partnered with World Champion Jordan Crooks, who helped spearhead the program and shape its foundation across our three pillars: mindset, nutrition, and sports performance.

Welcoming the Next Gen

As the year progressed, we continued to strengthen our swim roster with the addition of Olympic medalist Claire Curzan. Claire brings not only world-class talent, but a story of resilience and composure that aligns deeply with where deboer is headed, particularly as we continue to expand and invest in women’s performance.

What's Next?

We close out 2025 with real momentum heading into 2026. Key partnerships are nearing the finish line, new innovations are taking shape, and the community around deboer continues to grow stronger.

While these are just highlights, none of it would be possible without YOU: the athletes, supporters, and believers who make up the deboer family. This brand has always been about more than equipment. It’s about people, progress, and pushing forward together.

We can’t wait to see what comes next .. and we’ll keep innovating, one piece of equipment at a time.
