why is there a membership fee?+
the membership fee helps us build a real athlete program, not just a discount program. it allows us to provide premium team apparel, race support, events, partner benefits, athlete management, community activities, and exclusive experiences throughout the season. our goal is to create one of the strongest and most engaged triathlon communities in the sport.
can I pay in installments?+
yes. during checkout you can choose to pay in 3, 6 or 12 monthly installments (availability depends on your country and payment provider).
can I upgrade my package later?+
no. your package must be selected during the application process and cannot be upgraded later in the season.
the good news is that once you're a ProAm athlete, you'll receive a 20% athlete discount on all future deboer purchases throughout the year, so you can always add products to your collection whenever you'd like.
who can apply?+
anyone with a passion for triathlon can apply. whether you're racing your first 70.3 distance or competing at the World Championships, we look for athletes who are dedicated, engaged with the community, and excited to represent deboer.
is everyone accepted into the ProAm team?+
no. the ProAm team is application based. we review every application individually to build a team of athletes who represent the deboer community both on and off the race course.
when will I hear if I've been accepted?+
applications are reviewed as they come in. everyone will receive an update on their application within two weeks of applying.
when is the next application period?+
applications open once per year, from september 9 to september 30.
i wasn't accepted this year. can I apply again?+
absolutely. every season starts with a new application process, and we encourage athletes to apply again the following year.
how long does my membership last?+
your ProAm membership is valid for the 2027 season. applications re-open every year for the following season.
do I have to race in deboer products?+
yes. as a deboer ProAm athlete, we ask that you race and represent the brand in deboer products whenever possible throughout the season.
can I be part of another wetsuit brand at the same time?+
no. ProAm athletes are expected to exclusively represent deboer for wetsuits and swimskins during the season.
will I receive race support during the season?+
yes. throughout the year we'll organize team meet-ups, training sessions, race activations, and selected race support. we'll also provide World Championship race packs for qualified athletes racing Chattanooga and Kona.
does my athlete discount work on sale items?+
yes. your standard ProAm athlete discount is 20% on regular-priced products. for clearance and sale items, your athlete discount is 5%. this helps us keep offering great value while maintaining the lowest possible prices on discounted products.
can I use my athlete discount for friends or family?+
your ProAm athlete discount is for personal use only and cannot be shared. however, you can give your friends and family a 10% discount, so they can enjoy deboer products too.
when will my ProAm package ship?+
we aim to ship all ProAm packages in January, before the season starts. if there are any changes to the timeline, we'll keep all ProAm athletes updated by email.
what if I order the wrong size?+
no problem. as long as your product is unused and in new condition, we'll help you exchange it for the correct size according to our standard exchange policy.
