Race day is not the day to find out where a suit rubs. This is the whole reason the standard date matters more than the express one.

One week out

Check the wetsuit ruling

Water temperature decides whether suits are legal, mandatory or banned. If it is called off, a speedsuit is the fallback — worth owning before you need it.

Race morning

Suit on last

Get it on unhurried, then stay out of the sun. Standing around zipped up in direct heat is how people overheat before the gun.
